About

Frontera Bugalú was founded in El Paso, TX by accordionist Kiko Rodriguez. The band has over ten years of performing in the Southwest and has begun touring nationally and internationally. They are known for energetic performances centered around the accordion, cumbias, and a percussion section that moves dance floors.

Their sound was recently described by a fan when posting about their latest album, "..an electrifying blend of cumbia and traditional Mexican folk music, "Alma de Jaguar" succeeds in being both extremely catchy and a prime demonstration of musical Latin fusion."

Over the years they have built a dedicated following and shared the stage with groups such as Celso Piña, Los Lobos, La Santa Cecilia, and Calle 13.

With a DIY work ethic born from the El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, Mex., underground scene and its unique accordion-based music, Frontera Bugalú embodies the new sound of the border, one that embraces both vibrant sides of the Rio Grande and beyond.
